The Pat Munro Foundation Celebrates a Year of Community Impact in 2025

Posted on

As part of our commitment to making a positive difference across the areas in which we operate, the Pat Munro Foundation provided funding and sponsorship to a wide range of local groups, charities and individuals throughout the Highlands and Moray in 2025.

Over the past year, we’ve supported several local schools with end-of-year activities, including residential trips and summer fairs, ensuring pupils could enjoy memorable experiences regardless of financial circumstances.

Support for older members of the community was also a key focus, with a donation made to the Invergordon Lunch Club helping with the provision of food, electricity, and social outings. allowing elderly patrons to continue enjoying a warm, welcoming space and vital social connection.

Local sport and wellbeing initiatives benefited too. The Foundation provided funding to Highland Soo Bahk Do, a local martial arts club, towards the purchase of new training mats, helping to improve safety and training conditions for its members.

Individual achievements were also celebrated through sponsorships. Ally Ross received support while taking part in a White-Collar Boxing event in Aviemore. Although he didn’t take home the win, Ally put up a determined fight and successfully raised funds for the Archie Foundation, making the event a success on and off the canvas.

Young talent was recognised through sponsorship of Robyn MacDonald, a local athlete representing Scotland Under-14s in bowling, a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for the community. We were also delighted to support Isabella Fioretti, an 18-year-old amateur boxer from Tain. Representing the Highland Boxing Academy in Inverness, Isabella has already won multiple titles, showing incredible dedication and determination as she works towards her future goals in the sport.

The Foundation also continued its compassionate support for families facing loss, providing funding to Simba towards the provision of memory boxes for parents who have suffered miscarriage or stillbirth, offering comfort during incredibly difficult times.

Environmental and community protection projects were not forgotten, with funding provided for materials to build a stone wall at Gairloch Sitooterie Garden, helping to protect this valued space from ongoing tidal surges.

Amongst many other initiatives supported this year, the Foundation also hosted its annual golf day, which raised an impressive £7,700, and was match-funded by Pat Munro, effectively doubling the event's impact.

If you are involved with a worthy local cause that could benefit from support, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us or complete an application form, which can be found on our website at patmunro.co.uk/community
