Shaw Pipeline Services, a division of Shawcor UK Ltd based in Alness, recently held its annual charity Golf Day, raising an amazing £6000 which the company has donated to The Pat Munro Foundation. In total seventy-six players took part with ten volunteers helping to run the day.

The money was raised through a combination of entry fees and a live auction and raffle, with donations received from several Scottish Golf Clubs, Football Clubs and businesses. In addition, the company purchased an insurance policy for a hole in one competition with golfers paying £10 which gavethem one entry on 4 different holes. A top prize of £15,000was offered if someone managed a hole in one @ the 18th.

John Howden, NDT Supervisor – SPS Offshore said,

It was a great day, enjoyed by all and we would like to thank everyone who took part and helped us to raise such a large sum of money. Our aim is to pick a different charity every year andwe know that The Pat Munro Foundation provides support to a variety of worthwhile causes locally including community groups and other disadvantaged or social enterprise entities, so we decided to donate the money to them.

Hamish Little from The Pat Munro Foundation said,

We are extremely grateful to Shaw Pipeline Services for choosing to donate this money to the Pat Munro Foundation and their generous donation will be put to good use supporting local community causes, groups and charities across the North of Scotland.
