Position

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment within the company. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and janitorial tasks to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the facility. The position will report to the Supervisor.

Principal Job Responsibilities

Principal roles and responsibilities will include:-

  • Cleaning and Sanitising:
    • Perform general cleaning tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
    • Clean and sanitise restrooms, kitchens, and common areas regularly.
  • Waste Management:
    • Empty and dispose of waste bins.
    • Ensure proper disposal of waste following safety guidelines.
  • Surface Cleaning:
    • Clean and disinfect surfaces, countertops, and equipment.
    • Spot-clean walls, windows, and glass surfaces as needed.
  • Floor Care:
    • Maintain the cleanliness of carpets and hard flooring.
    • Operate and maintain floor-cleaning equipment.
  • Restocking Supplies:
    • Replenish restroom and kitchen supplies, such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
    • Report low stock levels to the supervisor for reordering.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
    • Report safety hazards and potential issues to the supervisor.
  • Specialised Cleaning:
    • Perform occasional deep-cleaning tasks, such as carpet shampooing or waxing floors.
    • Handle specific cleaning tasks based on the organisation's needs.

The successful applicant will ideally have the following skills, qualities & experience:

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow cleaning schedules.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Stamina to perform physical tasks for extended periods.
