Core Functions of Role:
- Assist and support all Finance Team functions as directed by the General Ledger Coordinator or the Finance Team Manager.
As the Accounts Assistant your duties will include:
- Review of bank statements and the posting of Cashbook transactions to the Ledgers
- Posting of recurring Direct Debits
- Petty Cash handling
- Bank and Cash reconciliations
- Completing manual cheques for signing
- Posting of labour and plant costings to Opera from the Database
- Posting of labour recharge journals
- Assisting the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger Clerks when directed to do so by the General Ledger Coordinator
- Posting of Nominal Ledger Journals
- Processing timesheets
- Provide cover for other team members in times of absence
- Processing Road Fund Licence renewals for company vehicles

Applicant
The successful applicant will require the following skills and experience:
• Have, or be working towards, a recognised accountancy qualification
• Have knowledge, experience and understanding of general accounting functions
• A structured and diligent approach to task management and record keeping
• Good communication skills, with both company clients and other company personnel
• Have an aptitude for multi-tasking and efficiently structure daily tasks
