Pat Munro carried out the first phase of the Kinnairdie Link Road Scheme which involved improvements to the junction of the A862 Newton Road and the A834 Burn Place close to the Council Offices in Dingwall.

New kerbs, footways and drainage systems were installed and the carriageway was widened and resurfaced over 350m across the existing junctions. The traffic lights were also replaced as well as service diversions undertaken by various utility providers

The work was carried out in phases to maintain traffic flows throughout the 28 week duration, a one-way system was implemented for northbound traffic allowing for the existing junction to be reduced to two-way traffic control reducing waiting times for road users. Traffic management and diversions were undertaken in full compliance with the clients strict requirements and Chapter 8 of the TSM.  The Junction was also close to the Fire Station, Ambulance base as well as the Road Policing HQ and interface with these facilities was maintained throughout to ensure minimal disruption to their daily operations.
